As healthcare and biomedical sciences rapidly evolve, the demand for patient-specific surgical guides, models, customized implants, advanced biomaterials, and innovative drug delivery systems continues to grow. While many universities host general makerspaces, few provide a dedicated, biomedical-focused 3D printing facility designed to meet the regulatory and translational demands of the healthcare sector.
The 3D Printing Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine aims to fill this critical gap by offering purpose-built infrastructure tailored exclusively towards biomedical additive manufacturing applications. Located at the heart of the medical campus, this Center enables seamless collaboration between surgeons, researchers, faculty, and students. Our dedicated team, comprising experts in surgery, biomaterials, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, nanotechnology, and device design, brings over 2 decades of academic, clinical, and industry experience. This multidisciplinary expertise allows us to deliver highly customized, regulatory-conscious, and clinically relevant solutions at highly competitive prices for the University of Miami community and external partners (academic and non-academic institutions) in South Florida and beyond.
The Center houses state-of-the-art additive manufacturing platforms, including:
